Photoshop Phriday: Big Ten All Conference Honors
While Michigan awaits its bowl game invitation there is some celebration for the players who were selected to the All-Big Ten teams for the 2015 season. Jake Butt and Jabrill Peppers took home top honors in the conference. Butt won the Tight End of the Year award after racking up over 600 receiving yards and being a critical part of Michigan’s offense. Jake’s family had a group of tickets near mine this season and it was always fun seeing their reaction to his big plays. On the other side of the ball Jabrill Peppers was named the Freshman of the Year. Peppers primarily saw action on defense but was just too good to keep on the sidelines. He played almost 1,000 snaps this season and was used as a punt returner, receiver, and rusher.
Jehu Chesson and Jourdan Lewis were also named to the All-Big Ten first team. Lewis set a Michigan single season record for pass breakups with 21 and Chesson had a breakout year as a receiver and also included a kickoff return for a TD against Northwestern. On offense Jake Rudock, Amara Darboh, and De’Veon Smith received honorable mentions as did defender Desmond Morgan. Rudock’s season got off to a rocky start but without him Michigan would not have been nearly as successful. Both Blake O’Neill and Kenny Allen received recognition, O’Neill with an honorable mention and Allen being chosen for the third team All-Big Ten.
