Anniversary Clip Show
This weekend my wife and I celebrated our first anniversary! You can read all about the honeymoon we took in France last year in these four posts (1, 2, 3 & 4). Combining anniversary celebrations with busy schedules and travel the last few weekends, I don’t have a new bread to post about today. I will next week but today I thought I’d share some of the top things featured on the blog so far this year.
The banh mi sandwiches I made in February have absolutely been my favorite recipe this year and probably one of the best things I have ever made. From the fresh baguettes to the sriracha mayo, pickled veggies, and grilled meat, it is really hard to go wrong with this sandwich. If you’re more in the mood for soup, I spent a day making pho, a Vietnamese noodle soup with a wonderful beef broth.
Of course who could forget in early February when I tested with a friend 36 combinations of cereal and Gatorade for the Harbaugh Breakfast Challenge. I think my body is still recovering.
On another football note, my favorite Photoshop Phriday post this year has been about Benny Friedman. Friedman was an incredible player and fascinating person to learn about. While researching for the post I came across some amazing practice footage from 1926.
And this is a bread blog after all so I shouldn’t neglect the work I have done in that department. At this point in the year the gruyère stuffed loaves I made for #BreadBakers are the frontrunner for best bread of the year. They are simple to make and there really is never a bad time for bread and cheese.
I’ll be back on Friday with another Michigan football photoshop, and then come back Monday for some tasty new bread!
